Frequently Asked Questions
Where is Yoga Boat?
Yoga Boat is located at the site of the old Yogafever studio, Richards Place, 59 Broadway CF24 1XJ.
Do you have parking?
During the day there is on-street parking on Broadway or on one of the side streets. During the evening you can park in the gated area just beyond the studio. Please do not park here during the daytime as access is restricted to the businesses working from here.
Do you have storage for bikes?
We have room to store a few bikes, but please bring a lock just in case. (There are bike racks outside the front of the building on Broadway).
What time should I arrive to class?
If it’s your first class at Yoga Boat please arrive at least 10 minutes early to give you time to fill in a brief health questionnaire, chat to the teacher and settle yourself in. Doors will close 5 minutes before the class starts and latecomers can’t be admitted, so please make sure you arrive on time. The doorbell will be switched to silent once class starts so the class can’t be disturbed.
What should I wear to class?
Wear something comfortable that you can move in, eg leggings or shorts with a t-shirt or vest. Very loose clothing can sometimes get in the way, especially in a hot yoga class where you will sweat. The important thing is that you feel comfortable.
Where can I leave my belongings?
You can leave any bulky items (shoes, coats, etc) outside of the studio – we have shelves and a coat stand. The outside door is locked during class so no one will be able to enter here once the class begins. Items are left at your own risk and we are not responsible for items left in the shared space. You can bring valuable items with you into the studio. We have storage pockets for small items (phones, wallets, keys). Please ensure your mobile phone is switched off inside the studio.
Do you have showers/changing rooms?
We don’t have showers. There is a toilet inside the studio, and on the left as you go through the main door. They are small but fine for getting changed in.
Will there be mats available to use at the studio?
Yes, there are mats available for you to use, but you’re welcome to bring your own if you have one. We don’t have room for you to store your mat at the studio. If you are attending a hot yoga class, please bring a large towel to protect your mat from sweat and to stop hands and feet from slipping.
Is there water available to purchase?
We’re trying to do our bit for the environment and reduce the use of plastic bottles at the studio, so we don’t sell bottled water. There is tap water for you to fill your own bottle, and cups/glasses available if you forget to bring one.
Do I need to book?
All classes need to booked in advance online. We don’t have card payment facilities in the studio.
What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel a class up to 24 hours in advance online yourself on the booking system. Cancellations within 24 hours of the class are at our discretion. We may be able to refund you if we are able to find someone to take your space, however this is not guaranteed. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you want to cancel a class within 24 hours.
I have a health issue and I’m not sure if yoga is suitable for me. What should I do?
We recommend that you speak to your Doctor before starting yoga classes. Please contact us at email@example.com to discuss any health issues to help determine if a class is suitable for you. It is your responsibility to inform the teacher before class about any injuries or health issues or if you are pregnant.
